COMMUNITY CONSULTATION NOTICE

The Kahnawà:ke Gaming Commission (KGC) is considering a request that it has received from an existing Poker Room Licence holder to amend the KGC’s Regulations concerning Poker Rooms to allow a Poker Room to have up to thirty (30) additional poker tables, to be used primarily for tournament play. Such ‘tournament poker tables’ would be in addition to the number of poker tables that a Poker Room is permitted to have – the present maximum is twenty-five (25) tables.

Before it decides whether to enact this amendment to its Regulations, the KGC is requesting that any interested community member submit questions, concerns or comments to the KGC. The KGC has already consulted, or will be consulting, the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke, Kahnawà:ke Peacekeepers, Community Protection and other community organizations and stakeholders concerning this matter.

The KGC requests that questions, concerns or comments be made in writing, be signed by the writer and submitted by email to comments@gamingcommission.ca on or before October 19, 2012.
