DECISION TO REFUSE PERMIT

(MOHAWK TERRITORY OF KAHNAWAKE – October 8,  2023) – On October 4, 2023, at a duly convened meeting, the Kahnawake Gaming Commission (the “Commission”) unanimously decided Mr. Luftar Hysa was unsuitable to be licensed by the Commission as a Key Person. The Commission’s decision followed a lengthy and thorough investigation conducted by the Commission’s third-party agents.

The Commission is currently reviewing additional information that has recently been brought forward concerning Mr. Hysa’s previous role in the operations of Magic Palace and, in collaboration with the Mohawk Council of Kahnawake and the Kahnawake Peacekeepers, will take such additional measures as are necessary to ensure the integrity of Kahnawake’s gaming industry.
