MAXIMUM NUMBER OF POKER TABLES INCREASED

(MOHAWK TERRITORY OF KAHNAWÀ:KE – December 7, 2012) – As a result of a request received from an existing Poker Room Licence holder, and after a comprehensive consultation process that included community members, interested parties, the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke, the Kahnawà:ke Peacekeepers and Community Protection, the Commission has resolved to amend its Regulations concerning Poker Rooms to increase the maximum number of poker tables that are permitted in a poker room from twenty-five (25) to forty (40). It should be noted that the Commission was originally requested to increase the maximum number of poker tables from twenty-five (25) to fifty-five (55).

A poker room that wants to increase the number of tables it offers to the public must submit a written request to the Commission. Such requests will be reviewed and considered on a case-by-case basis.
